About GoogleSites.Dev
Weclome to my dinky digital design studio in the north east of England.
Hello.
Welcome to GoogleSites.Dev, my dinky digital studio specialising in Google Sites.
How this all started.
The idea behind GoogleSites.Dev came after I discovered Google Sites as a web development platform. As an experienced software developer I realised you could get some pretty impressive results from Google Sites, if you know what you're doing. It takes a bit of time and maybe an experienced eye, but the software is brilliant. However, being used to WordPress and the plethora of themes available, I noticed there was a real lack of options with Google Sites. And given the lack of templates available, I thought I'd do something about it.
So I made some templates ... and gave them away.
I started a project called I Make Templates, to help people learn how to use themes and templates in Google Sites. Small ones, big ones, personal ones, corporate ones, you name it, I've built it. To date there have been more than 22,000 downloads of my free templates. Then I set up a Google Sites template shop to sell premium versions of my templates - I'm still pretty stoked with how that's gone too.
Then I started helping people with Google Sites.
Off the back of the free templates thing, helping out the Google Sites community on Reddit and also getting folks approach me directly for help (quite often with the same issue or question), folks also started offering me money to build or improve their websites. (Getting paid to do what you enjoy is amaaayzing.)
And then it became a thing.
Looking around at the time, the other Google Sites resources didn't really seem up to scratch (product and attitude), so I thought I'd start my own Google Sites house up and focus solely on helping people with Google Sites.
And here we are.
I keep it simple. Like, really simple.
At the heart my work is a commitment to simplicity. A website should be a tool that works for you, not against you. As an experienced designer I am dedicated to creating clean, minimalist websites that not only look great but are also easy for small business owners to maintain. I know you're busy, that's why I've streamlined the process of getting your business online to make it as fuss free and straightforward as possible. (Read how I like to work with clients).
The Google Sites advantage.
I use Google Sites to build websites for small businesses. Why? Because I believe in harnessing technology that is accessible, reliable, and easy to navigate. Google Sites not only aligns with my commitment to simplicity but also offers seamless integration with other Google services, providing a entire digital ecosystem for your business. It's easy to use, it's free, and in the hands of an experienced professional (like me) you can get stunning results.
I've build hundreds of websites with Google Sites. Commercial websites for clients, personal websites for friends, hobby projects for myself. I've also created more than 50 Google Sites templates which have been downloaded more that 10,000 times.
Client focused service.
I treat people as I'd want to be treated myself. Once we agree the scope and content of what it is you need, I can crack on. I’ll need your help with design input on images, fonts, colours and stuff, but you’ll have access to a secure demo version as I build it. I’ll be clear on what I need you to do, and when I need it, if we’re to stick to timelines, estimates and plan. You'll be informed every step of the way.
I can accommodate minor change but if you fundamentally change what it is you want then I’ll let you know if there’s an impact on cost. You don’t work for free, and neither do I. When we launch your website we’ll make sure you know about the good things you can do to help increase the number of visitors. I only use Google-approved methods, but you’ll learn some useful tips to help yourself in future. Rest assured it's not over once your website goes live.
